PMH Day PDF Print E-mail

SATURDAY 8th November 2014

PMH Day is an annual event that WA Little Athletics encourages all Centres to participate in.  Many thousands of dollars have been raised over the years which enables PMH to purchase much needed equipment.  This day is all about “kids helping kids”.  Come along with your “Crazy Hair” & “Crazy Socks”! There will be prizes for the best Crazy Hair & the best Crazy Socks.

Fundraising activities will include Club raffles, a Silver Coin Chain at the 100m line, Guess the Lollies in the Jar, Ladies & Gents race, the chance to write Messages of Support to the Kids at PMH   and all canteen sales will go to PMH.

We ask that all athletes please bring along a gold coin donation.

We would also like all Clubs to please provide a themed hamper to be raffled on the day:

Glendale – Pamper

North Beach – Christmas

Sorrento – Boys Toys

Karrinyup – Girls Toys

Oceanside – A Day at the Beach

Whitfords – Gourmet/BBQ

It is also our Club Challenge Day where all Clubs will be competing for the Club Challenge Trophy.  This trophy will be presented to the Club that receives the highest average points per athlete (total points divided by the number of competitors on this day).

Ladies & Gents 100m Races will be held at 10.30am ($5 entry fee, to PMH), there is wine to be won!  Please ensure a good warm up & plenty of stretching prior to the race!!!

With your support, we look forward to making this a great day!

Registration Day and Rosters 2014 PDF Print E-mail

Registration  2014-15 season

Karrinyup is full - no enrolments permitted

Membership is now open  and Training boundaries exist - please check details on the map shown on this website.

to enrol please log onto http://www.resultshq.com.au/

Birth certificate proof of the athletes will also be required before commencing the season.

Hamersley LAC is implementing 'Centre Based Rosters'

Clubs will coordinate Canteen and BBQ rosters;  Hamersley will coordinate all other rosters for all competition days.

Parents are expected to complete around 12 hours of rosters across the 18 weekends of Hamersley competitions.

Hamersley LAC is a volunteer run organisation and in order for the Saturday competitions to be able to operate efficiently, each club is required to provide parent volunteers on a roster basis. No special skills or knowledge are necessary, but parent help is viewed as a complusory element of Little Athletics at Hamersley LAC.

All HLAC committee was in favour of the 1st & 2nd offences for the rostering system.

First offence – children will not be able to compete the following week,

Second offence – children cannot compete for the rest of the season.

This may seem harsh, but parents will now need to take full responsibility for their rostered duty.  There will obviously be some extenuating circumstances & we will deal with them, if and when needed.

WALA State Team to Melbourne‏ PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations to Hamersley U13's, Melany Smart & Sarah Sundquist who have recently competed in the 50th anniversary of the Australian Little Athletics Championships held in Melbourne.

Melany gained a medal for each of the three events in which she entered - Gold in the 1500m, Silver in the 800m and Silver in the Triple Jump.

Sarah placed equal 4th in the 80m Hurdles and she also competed in both the 100m and 200m.

A wonderful achievement from both girls.  Well done!

Gallipoli Run‏ PDF Print E-mail

A big congratulations to Melany Smart (U13G) on being the first female runner across the line in the 4km Gallipoli Run held on the 13th April with a time
of 14.45.04.

A fantastic effort Melany!

We are seeking dedicated parents to fill the one  remaining position on the Hamersley committee.  Having a full committee ensures the necessary tasks to run the Centre’s competition are completed for the benefit of the members.  Most of the positions do not require any prior experience, just a keenness to get involved and provide assistance as required.  A hand-over will be provided.  The vacant committee position are:
  • Arena Manager - may be split into a Morning set-up manager and Late morning pack-up manager
  • Officials Organizer
  • Club Liaison & Compliance Officer
  • Social Co-ordinator

  • Canteen Co-ordinator

  • Junior Ranking Officer

Hamersley is currently testing a new online program for parent rosters for state events.  This program will be in place at the start of the season, so this should reduce the load considerably for the Officials Organizer, making it a much more automated role.  In addition, all Hamersley committee members receive a $100 reimbursement of their registration fees in recognition of the time commitment.  Please also note, that most clubs relieve Hamersley committee members from club related parent rosters due to the time given to assist Hamersley.
